Crypto-currency exchange platforms

These are platforms that allow exchanging Bitcoins for other crypto-currencies but do not accept fiat currencies. We have selected 3 major global, US and UK platforms and have discarded the 3 major Chinese platforms (OKCoin, BTCChina and Huobi) which are more or less banned in China but seem to still work. ..

Bittrex

Bittrex is a platform based in Seattle, USA, created by security professionals since the Mtgox case (hacking 850,000 bitcoins on a Japanese platform). If it has never been hacked, some users have complained of being stolen their login and password. It is therefore necessary to implement a 2-factor authentication after registration.

Traffic is estimated at 24 million sessions per month (Alexa 08/2017) with 580,000 visitors per day.

It is a platform that only allows exchange of Bitcoins against other crypto-currencies.

Deposits are not charged. The transaction fees on each exchange are 0.25% to which must be added fixed costs according to the cryptocurrency used (0.1% for Bitcoin)

700 cryptocurrencies are available.

Poloniex

Poloniex is a cryptocurrency trading platform based in the United States tax haven Delaware. She was born in January 2014. Her founder and leader is Tristan D'Agosta.

It is the world's first cryptocurrency trading platform in terms of trading with more than 80 available currencies. Traffic is estimated at 38 million sessions per month (Alexa, 08/2017) with 400,000 visitors per day.

The only way to pay on the Poloniex website is Bitcoin

Poloniex charges a taker transaction rate (if the order already exists in the orderbook) of 0.25% and a price maker (if the order must be created in the orderbook) of 0.15%. These 2 rates are applicable up to 600 Bitcoins exchanged then decreasing if the quantities exchanged increase.

Hitbtc

It is a platform created in 2013 by Beta Business Solutions, destined to become a global platform. It provides commercial services to traders.

Deposits are free. Withdrawals have different pricing depending on the currency. For example, for Bitcoin, the fee is 0.00085 Bitcoin. Trade pricing is particularly competitive: 0.01% (tariff maker) or 0.1% (tariff taker).

About thirty cryptocurrencies are available and some new cryptocurrencies are only available on this platform. These new currencies turn out to be very often "shitcoins", that is to say, currencies with no future.

No KFC (Know Your Customer) type identification system exists on this platform, it is anonymous.

The platform requires a time of adaptation for the handling. Support is available 24/7.
